Vision of the Markham Chapel Youth Ministry
To see all youth and young adults of Markham Chapel, regardless of their background, reach their full potential in Christ becoming productive citizens and people of Godly character. To prepare a generation of young people who stand for truth and make an impact in this present world. Mission of the Markham Chapel Youth Ministry
The Youth Ministry of Markham Chapel Missionary Baptist Church exists to reach youth and young adults of all ages with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ, empowering them to become leaders with effective ministry skills. We exist to provide a point of meeting for the youth and young adults in our church to have fun, to have fellowship with others of the same age and with similar interests, to receive sound biblical teaching, and to nurture them to spiritual maturity. We desire to mold a generation of young believers that will dare to make a difference in their generation. [Back to top]

The Joshua Generation and Jr. Joshua Generation

The Youth Ministry is divided into two age groups, age 3-12 are know as The Junior Joshua Generation and Sis. Gwendolyn Davis-Daye and Latoya Williams serve as Directors and youth and young adults age 13 and up are known as the Joshua Generation and the Directors are Min. Phyllis Graham, Min. Joanne Daniels and Min. Jamie Daniels. Each month, the Joshua Generation and Jr. Joshua Generation gathers for a time of fun and fellowship! We allow our youth to express their desire to minister by means of the Arts, including praise dance, mime, and step ministry, drama, and singing. We will also have outings such as bowling, skating, movies, picnics and much more. Each quarter we will host a birthday celebration for all youth celebrating with birthdays during that quarter. The Markham Chapel Youth Ministry Offers...

Wednesday Night Bible Study: This small group session deals with issues relevant to their age group.

LIFE Classes: We believe that with the right biblical teaching youth can live in faith every day . Each Sunday at 10 a.m. our youth will meet for LIFE classes in the Fellowship Hall; they will follow the Sunday school curriculum or as the Spirit leads. [Back to top]

Performing Arts Ministry

Mime Ministry and Step Steam
This is a ministry of liturgical dance that offers a group of dancers who love the Lord an opportunity to dance before the Lord and interpret the music and song through expressions of dance. The Dance Ministry Facilitators are: Praise Dancers: Sis. Cynthia Lane and Tamika Harris; Mime and Step Dancers: Sis. Schneka Graham and Bro. Tremaine Graham.

Drama Ministry
Our drama ministry is presented by a group of youth and young adults that love the Lord and whose talents are greater than can be imagined and border semi-professional. Their performances capture the heart and mind of the people and open the door of reality. Our in-house plays are written by our own anointed young adults. Min. Jamie Daniels and Schneka Graham will oversee this area of Ministry.

Youth Choir
The Director and overseer of the Youth Choir is Sis. Schneka Graham. The Choir rehearsals are held each Monday from 6-7 p.m. The choir will have officers who will serve under the leadership and direction of Sis. Schneka Graham. Min. Phyllis Graham and Min. Joanne Daniels will work with Sis. Schneka Graham along with her committee of parent volunteers in planning Anniversary celebrations and other programs and fundraising events for the Youth Choir.

Young Adult Choir
Min. Jamie Daniels serves as President of this choir. This choir is for Young Adults ages 18 and up they will provide the music for worship services on 5 th Sundays and will rehearse on an as needed basis.

Planning Sessions
The Youth Ministry leaders will meet to plan upcoming events.
